THE STORY BEHIND
"Like many other middle-aged Faroese, I come from a fishing family. We lived in close harmony with nature, and my best memories come from the many hikes in the mountains, where we drank water directly from the springs. I have missed that water in all my years in Denmark!” - Owner Bettina.
Bettina runs a successful temp agency on a daily basis, together with her husband Søren. But last year something happened that made Bettina go into a thinking box. A cousin from home called and said that on the southernmost Faroese island, Suderoy, the collection of spring water from the volcanic rocks near a remote settlement had started: Sumba!
Water with unique properties
Normally, machines are used to pump water up from the underground, but the source we are talking about here is so high that the water can flow directly into the bottling hall by itself.
The source was first discovered when rocks were blasted away to build the Sumbiar tunnel. The spring springs up through 55 million year old volcanic rocks, and this makes the water rich in minerals.
Bettina wanted to try the soft, lime-free and mineral-rich water! and therefore Bettina was sent the first bottles to test the quality of the water. She was blissful:

The swings and the carousel
Bettina and her husband Søren, who is finance manager for a large Danish company, now looked at financing options.
It was the savings from the well-run temp agency that ended up making the water adventure a reality. Now all that remains is to find out which company will be the swing and which will be the carousel.
Bettina has no doubts: "Everyone can taste that this water does something good for the body - your liver will finally be properly cleansed.
